The third goal was met when we headed out for the trick or treating. At the advice of the concierge, we went to a downtown spot, had a great time, and didn't even get murdered. I like that we have this memory of just the four of us heading to a random neighborhood and trying to blend in.
Oh, and people went kind of NUTSO over the kids' costumes, which I was surprised with. I mean, Harry Potter has been around forever, and is a bit "done" I suppose. You can probably buy the costume at a grocery store. But strangers acting like their were just FLOORED with the amazingness of being a Gryffindor for Halloween.
(One drunk lady's comments:
"Who is you guys, like, scholars or summin? Eh? OH YOU'RE FROM HARRY POTTER OH THAT'S TERRIFIC that costume is so great, you're like professors, with your um capes. HAHAHA (insert crazy laughter) you two are really something else!"
And then we scurried away. Very quickly.)
Alright, now where was I.... decorating, costumes, trick or treating...
Yes. Right. Next we headed back to the hotel, and made some wizarding pictures. We watched a scary movie, then attempted to get ready for bed, which made the littles cry over every little thing, which means they ate too much sugar, and then they kept crying, and...
It was a great Halloween.
