Wendy and I are often asked what it is like to work with a spouse.  Wendy’s response usually includes such adjectives as “horrible”, “dreadful”, “worst coworker ever”, “I want to stab my eyes out”,  “please help me”, “no seriously,” and my personal favorite, “It is kind of like having someone pour lemon juice on a paper cut.  Oh, while someone else is smashing your foot with a sledge hammer.  Oh, and did I mention that person three just stuffed dynamite down your pants?”  Maybe Wendy is not the best with parts of speech, but cut her some slack, she has to work with me.

My response is usually a little different.  It is certainly more long winded.

Before I married Wendy a good friend gave me some advice about finding a wife.  He advised me to marry someone better than I was.  My first response you can no doubt guess.  At least if you have met me.  Seriously guy?  Someone better?  Do you want me to remain a bachelor my whole life?  Because that is going to be hard to find.  I kid.  I kid.

I took the advise to heart.  Wendy and I met.  I wooed her (link).  I somehow tricked her into marrying me.  It may have had something to do with the fact that I told her I was the only child of a successful clothing magnate worth 251.54 million dollars, who was on her death bed, and I stood to inherit everything within weeks.  The details are fuzzy.

The takeaway point is that she married me.  Life has been fantastic ever since.  Wendy is my best friend.  She is interested in me, interesting to me, funny, fun, intelligent, creative, personable, hot (yep), and an all around sweet person.

And working with her is no different than being married to her.  It rocks.  We get to hang out doing what we love with who we love, and meet awesome people and see cool places along the way.  Adding the kids to our travels these last months has made life even sweeter.  What I am trying to say is that it is an okay gig.

Dur

It's aweseome!!!! when you have to make a late night run to the store for chapstick because your lips are falling off your face so you hop in the car in a strange city and try to navigate through construction and the first place you go is closed so you look for another and that's closed too so you are forced to go to WalMart and then you shop and when you go check out you wait in line for 40 minutes and then you realize your wallet is not with you.

Sigh.

Maybe you've heard of Vol. 25 before? Jessica, owner and artist at the shop, is graciously giving away a set of her adorably artsy overlays to TWO winners!  These overlays can liven up a picture in no time- they are so whimsical and child-like.  She let me try some out, and here's what I came up with:

Cool, huh!  So fun to play around with.

Vol. 25 also has a whole slew of amazing prints and posters full of the colors I love and design that's so "feel-good" I just want to eat them up.

So, to enter this contest, just go ahead and leave a comment, and don't forget to leave your email address in the field (that only I will be able to see once posted).  This contest ends Feb 22nd so hurry :).

(and back to that note of frustration--- turns out I'm not receiving a LOT of my email as of the last 2 days. So- if I haven't replied to you- I didn't get your message.  To those folks who have signed up for sessions in the last 2 days, I am working hard to get you your confirmations! Thank you so much.

xoxo
