In September we held a big goPro workshop reunion on the New Jersey shore. I really, really need to blog pictures from that reunion, it was so fun! Our kids were somewhat in attendance for the weekend and one afternoon we all found ourselves on the beach doing some team games.
We did a game where we divided into two groups of about 15 or so. Both teams were to build a giant sand sculpture that had something to do with photography. It just so happened that Belle decided to hang out with one team and Isaac with the other.
We had 10 minutes to build. On the mark of go, each team furiously began building their sculpture. The team I was on decided to build a big camera. I was curious what the other team was building so I asked Isaac to be a spy and to run over and check out their sculpture. He was DELIGHTED with this spy task and bolted away.
He sprinted back and said, "it looks like they are building a plate!"
Ummm... ok. I was comforted by the thought that he thought they were building a plate. That meant that whatever the other team was making was still totally unrecognizable .
(I get a bit competitive at times.)
During the next 10 minutes I asked him to go spy a few more times. Time was quickly up and each team went to check out the other team's work. Turns out, we had both built cameras. Wah-Wah.
To decide who won, we asked a random beach goer to pick a winner- I don't want to brag or anything but I was on the winning team :) But that's not important NOR is it the point of this post.
On the walk back to the party house, Isaac sidled up to me cozily and sighed contentedly. "Mom, you taught me a great new skill today. I had SO much fun cheating! I'd love to do it again."
