This birthday was rad. I can't make it any clearer! Here's what went down.
Woke up to breakfast in bed. And presents: three lego dudes. (This is a true gift of the heart from Isaac- he doesn't give up legos EVAR. But little does he know, these lego dudes were already mine- I got a whole box of them for my 30th birthday from Tyler. Then they kind of eeked into his possession.)
It was hard not to notice how beautiful life is today. I have a wonderful family. I had a great view from our hotel window here in Rio de Janeiro. Blessings coming in from every direction, it seems. I am so grateful for life. 33 years of gnar!
More hotel room/view shots.
Looks like one of those mini-model things, huh?
I decided not to sight-see here in Rio on my birthday. I didn't want to sit in too many taxis or worry about being robbed again :) We have lots of days left to do that. Instead we headed to the beach and pool at about 10 am and came back at 6 pm. I have never done that before- I am not a beachy, sun bathing kind of gal, nope. Shade is my thing, and Tyler's too. But this hotel is tall and casts a long, perfect shadow over the pool. It was so ideal. We swam all day in a warm pool with ant-hill shaped mountains surrounding us like I've only seen in Rio. At dinner we shared a sandwich and fries and we might even have had the first ice cream sundae in months.
Well, this birthday recap is getting long. Thanks for all the well-wishing and notes from you. I had a terrific day- thanks to Tyler for making my wishes come true, and these two little lilies for being amazing human beings.
