Should I be mortified or proud?

After 5 weeks of living in our house again I had not yet done a deep cleaning. Our renter left the house sparkly clean and it remained clean until Christmas- after that we just pretended not to see dust, then had house guests, and then were faced with having a little party one night. So I was forced to mop the floor.

As the kids played around I mopped. I was taking pleasure in seeing my swipes of the mop wipe clean lines throughout the floor. Belle wandered in.

Isabelle: What is that thing, mom? What are you doing?

Me: *confused*  This?  Well, this is a mop. You don't know what a mop is?

Isabelle:  Ohhhhhh it's a mop? Is that one of those things that sucks you in if you get too close?

me: *stunned silence*

me:  *more stunned silence*

me:  No, that's a vacuum. This is a mop.  Isabelle, I think I need to mop the floor more often!

Isabelle: Yah except remember! We won't have a house soon mwahahahah!

This is one of the best exchanges ever between us and I want to remember it.

Images from Belle's birthday in Japan.   She usually wakes up sick on her birthday and Christmas, probably from excitement, and these pastries and vending machine toys were Tyler and Isaac's tries at cheering her up.
