Still haven't wrapped up our summary of Japan! Terrible.
We get asked a lot what our favorite leg of the tour so far has been. I always say Japan. This may or may not be true; but it's a question that's too hard to answer. I've loved almost all of it to bits, but Japan was an experience unlike anything we've ever done before. Everything was new to us- the religion, the architecture, the language, the food, etc. And that made it really exciting. The kids were noticing all the things that were different all day long, and into the night. I loved that they had this experience.
Did I ever tell you about the Konichiwa game? The kids and Tyler made it up. It's a contest between Isaac and Izzy to see who can get a Konichiwa said back to them.
They played this game as we walked miles and miles each day. (Did I mention they are expert walkers? They can walk SO far.) Isabelle was really, really good at it, sizing up the people coming toward her on the sidewalks and deciding, before she greeted them, if they'd reply back. If they looked her in the eye, she knew they's say a Konichiwa! to her. She always won.
And that made big brother very mad!
I'm loving the look of Isabelle in the photo above- "Um- who is this grandad helping me?!" And he's like, "Uhh?"
Just a reminder that I will be headed back to Tokyo for some sessions on September 3rd. Yay!
