Before our trip to Europe, we plotted and planned and changed our mind a thousand million times as to where we'd stay, how we'd stay, etc. We thought of doing hotels, tent camping, car camping, RV camping, hostels, you name it. We finally decided, about 3 weeks before the trip, that we'd try campervanning around the main continent, but that left us up in the air for England/Ireland.
Apparently I was exhausted and wanted to NOT think about where to stay any longer, because a week out from going to London, we still had not made a decision on where we were going to stay.
Enter Woman Straight From Heaven, pictured above. Rebecca emailed us and said, Hey. We have a flat here, you can stay in it while we are out of town for a few days! Tyler and I thought: no brainer! And immediately accepted the invite.
Somehow that invite turned into a 9 day stay, wherein we took up most of the rooms in the flat and talked their ears off and did heaps of loads of laundry and made amazing new lifelong friends.
I'm sure there were worries, in the beginning, before we arrived. I know we were worried that our kids would, as usual, have no clue what certain boundaries were, would be loud, obnoxious and break everything.
They were probably worried that we were loud, obnoxious, would break everything, and on top of that, possible serial killers.
But happily, we came out being bonded as friends for life. These friends are some of the most giving, selfless, accommodating people you will ever meet. They're our new pals with pure hearts and a knack for making people feel completely welcome, even if they do overstay by 6 days.
