One of the top highlights of our Japan trip was a simple afternoon spent in a park. We didn't even mean to spend the afternoon in a park- but that's how it turned out since a trio of teen Japanese girls went nutso over our blonde kids.
We were walking by, minding our own, when the shrieking began. By this point in our trip, just a few days in, I & I were pretty used to the doting and attention, but certainly not unappreciative! They loved every minute. So their faces really lit up when they realized the shrieks were in response to their cuteness.
This gaggle of teens were speaking a mile a minute in Japanese, every once in a while throwing out the words "cute!" "boy!" "Blue eyes!" etc. as they smiled broadly at the kids, trying to engage them in conversation.
Both our kids whipped out their cameras to take pictures of their new friends- but mostly to show the girls all the fun pictures they had taken in Japan. The girls loved that. They were perfectly willing to spend so much time with us, all the while just giggling and being so silly and fun, entertaining Tyler and I probably the most. I couldn't stop grinning- nobody could, really.
Here we were, a group of seven humans, language uncommon, yet having a great conversation about life and enjoying ourselves. When I look back at these images I still have such a huge smile on my face.
And, we did catch Isaac showing off several times for the ladies- check out those muscular (skinny) arms.
The below photo was to document the kids' slight confusion the first time they were begged for a photo. So hilarious.
