Accents

In anticipation of traveling to other countries, we've started discussing languages and accents with the kids. We're hoping they'll find the new-to-them accents and languages enchanting, like we do.  (fact: Tyler and I committed to speak like Irish folk for the rest of our lives (for kicks and giggles) on what happened to be the night Isaac was born. So yeah.... that didn't last long.)

Isaac wanted to know how people in England would sound. So, I gave him my best impression.  He laughed, with a sparkle in his eye.  Then, proceeded to say to me, in such a lovely, lilting accent:

Oh muthahhhh,  yoo do speak so wahnderfulleee!

Followed by the most uproarious laughter (side note: my first spelling of laughter was "lafter".  I'm tired.) and hugest grin. He was soooooo pleased with himself.

So was Isabelle.  He urged her to try an "Englands accent".  But she blushed, and became very shy. It's rare for Belle to blush and be shy.... but she's yet to be bold enough to perform for us!

So here's hoping our trip to Australia on Tuesday will embolden her to try new ways of speech.  For when she finally does break it out, we're sure to die from the cute.
