A good, solid internet connection so I can make some clients happy by sending their files already! Also: how am I supposed to make an interesting post with the inability to upload more than one photo per hour? HOW?
We BlueLilies are currently in San Francisco, enjoying some very moody, dark clouds that threaten rain. Er, rather, they actually are raining. But it's pretty so we'll live with it.
Sacramento was good to us, as was Big Sur and Monterey. We moved out of our house almost 2 weeks ago and it seems like that was ages ago. We have had a lot of good, solid, uninterrupted family time. Which sometimes meant that Tyler and I wanted to hide in a cave while the wild baboons/kids destroy the outside world with hyperactivity. I mean it- the two of them hit record, appalling levels of hyperobnoxiousness for a couple of days. Then, they snapped right out of it. Thank you universe!
In all seriousness though, I would like to share what I've learned from the past 2 weeks.
One, that "going along with a schedule" is totally lame sometimes. Being flexible is awesome and provides some great opportunities that schedules don't. (However, Isaac has mega problems with this as he wants to know what's happening a week in advance, minute by minute.) If we had stuck to our original plans for our Big Sur camping week we would have missed out on some great experiences with our kids. (pictures to come soon I hope.)
And two, that I, as a parent, need to chill. In case you don't know, I hate noise if it's loud and coming out of a child's mouth. There, I said it. I vow to relax about this. I vow to let my kids be kids a little more. And I say a "little" because I know "a lot" will probably make me rip my head off, so I'll just take it slowly. I vow to micromanage less. And now it's been written for all to see, so I must do it.
Before I go, I would like to state something. We will probably not get to do another world tour again... I hope so, but who knows. So Tyler and I would like to document as much of it here on the blog as we can.
We will not be offended if you do not read the "family stuff".
We will not be offended if you do not read any of the words we write.
We do realize that this is a photo business blog, but as we've developed so many great relationships from this crazy adventure called blogging, we feel encouraged to write and photo document as we go, and we welcome you along on the adventure.
We do think all of you are awesome and truly value your readership, and will also continue to blog the regular stuff too.
With that, I'm off to steal some internets that actually have some sort of speed. Here are some very subpar iphone photos just in case you....wanted... to see... .... ... something?
