Today Isabelle and I went shopping together- kind of a mother/daughter bonding experience, no boys allowed.
As we strolled through a department store, I noted Belle's quiet demeanor. Usually she talks nonstop wherever we are, but today, at this moment, we were walking hand in hand, silently. I relished in the peaceful moment together.
Isabelle broke the silence with her adorable tounge click and deep breath that signifies that speech will now begin.
*click* *breath* "Momma?"
"Momma... when you are dead, can I have your makeup?"
Immediately, genuine, hearty peals of laughter came from within me and echoed through the store. I could not believe it. Here I was, thinking that we were having some sort of moment together, in serenity, when really, my 4 year old is scheming ways to acquire my mascara.
Tonight I'm sleeping with one eye open.
To the mother of these three tiny babes: Maybe you should let your little gal wear makeup a bit more frequently that I let mine :)
