Tomorrow, around the country, thousands of mom bloggers will be posting pictures of their little offspring headed to kindertarten for the very first time.
Tomorrow, around the country, thousands of mom bloggers will be driving their adorable offspring to school and dropping them off for the very first time.
And, tomorrow, around the country, thousands of mom bloggers will drive home sobbing because their genius offspring is growing up. Not a baby anymore. Taller, smarter, able to simultaneously drive you crazy and melt your heart at the same time.
I will be among those throngs of mothers, both excited to see my kid grow up and sad to see his baby-ness become total history.
The years since Isaac's birth have passed both quickly and slowly. Slowly enough for us to enjoy each of his stages, quickly enough for things to remain exciting and adventurous. I'm not gonna lie... I have been waiting for this day, thinking it would be so wonderful to finally send him off to school. And now that it's here, I am still very happy. This kid is going to have A BLAST. Imagine.... he can talk to 20-60 kids his age each day, all he wants, and talk and talk and talk and talk and talk some more, until his little mouth tires out (will it ever?). School will be perfect for him.
He will be great at learning, soaking in everything his teacher says- already he can read quite a bit and loves books so much, which I find to be soooo charming!
Tyler and I took Isaac out for his "Going to School Shoot", and then out to a fun dinner. We had a blast listening to Isaac talk and talk and talk (uninterupted, this time, by his cutie little sister) and talk and talk, and tell his nonsensical jokes. And wow, there were so many nonsensical jokes! :)
Warning- only check out the pictures below if you can handle EXTREME HANDSOMENESS.
