You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose.
I certainly saw the humor in this statement when I first heard it at age ten. In fact, I collapsed laughing. Now, though, I wonder about the logic of it. It seems to say that if you can verb a noun and you can also same verb different noun then you should therefore be able to verb a noun's noun. I admit, this is confusing without an example.
You can kick your friend and you can kick yourself, but you can't kick your friend's yourself.
