(I wrote this last wednesday. Already we are 2 days away from ending our delightsome vacation.)
I admit, my relationship with Arizona started out great. Memories of going to Oma's house as a child with my family were nothing but good. I loved Thanksgivings in Mesa, when my cousin and I would sneakily grab fistfuls of turkey off the dinner platter and go run out by the irrigation ditch to feed it all the nieghborhood dogs. We felt so tricky and deviant. Those were the good days- Arizona was warm, sunny, and meant that there would be plenty of cousins and Oma love to go all around.
Then I became an adult and noticed that Arizona is kind of hot. And there is a lot of concrete. And slow drivers. So I began to think it was kind of.... less than desireable. I loved my trips out to AZ because of the clients, but not necessarily the scenery or the feel of the place.
Flash forward to now. Today we embark on a seven day vacation to: Exotic Arizona, Scottsdale to be precise.
Yah- I'm just as confused, but I'm really looking forward to spending 7 days in Scottsdale, Arizona... with nobody but my family.
And, it won't even be hot, and since we're staying in a supersweet resort, I bet I won't even feel the concrete jungle pressing in on me.
I mean, sure... some people go on cruises to the Bahamas or trips to Europe. But apparently, we like Arizona.
Arizona, you complete me.
Pix below are from a recent engagement shoot with a stellar couple. CanNOT wait for their wedding.
