My family is going stir crazy. All this TIME together, what the heck are we supposed to do with it! Today we woke up to another rainy day. I like rain, but at the end of the Holidays I feel like shooing my wee ones outside to fend for themselves.
But alas, today we were forced to get creative. First, my little Christmas present to myself (more like my 90th present to myself) arrived in the mail the day before. So, I got to work applying it to my wall. I LOVE IT. It took two hours to apply but it looks awesome, don't you think?
(in case you can't tell- it's that huge black tree on the wall.)
After that we played some Wii Fit. I like the Wii Fit so much, but it does cause ugly wires to hang down from the tv. Ick. *need to get an entertainment center of some sort*
Then finally: the mother of all fun activities. Isaac and I gathered up our most prized possessions; his: star wars guys, me: my camera.
We headed to the garage where sweet open shade can be found.
And then: we took pictures of those guys. Boy howdy did we. My goal was to get some cool images to plaster Isaac's walls with- Isaac's goal was to lecture me on which light sabers go to which guy and kept saying "NO MOM the red sabers go to the dark side" and such. In the end I think I did okay, but the kid schooled me bigtime. Isabelle too- for a 2.5 year old, she knows a disturbing amount of star wars facts.
For example, Izzy says to me as I try to shove a certain light saber into some guy's hand:
"Mom, dat not his! Dis wight saber is for General Grievous. Hahaha! He is so funny!"
Here are our results. Starting with my favorite guy, Dooku. Or is it Duku? I should ask Ike.
This is Isaac's favorite guy, below. One of the Fett boys.
next: Darf Mayder (4 yr. old pronunciation)
Asajj Ventress: Pure plastic EVILLLLLLL!
Isabelle's fave: R2 Nee Doo
I secretly wish we had bought all the Lego guys for Isaac instead ofthe above ones, 'cause how cute is this dude below? Unfortunately we would have had to sell all of our arms and legs to afford them. Pricey little buggers.
And the rest of the gang:
So there you have it- our rainy day activities. Hope your day was terrific.
Tomorrow's post: Junkyard beauties.
