Two girls and a junkyard

I shoot the unusual.  I like beautiful subjects in dingy backgrounds. I really like it when my clients do too.  I asked Melanie, a senior- what she had in mind for her senior session- she said, "I like your junkyard pictures."  My grin said it all- I love the junkyard.

Seniors are really into the vintage, rustic, urban look these days, so I take quite a few seniors out to Old Town and the junkyard.  While they make clothing changes, etc. I like to poke around and take a picture here and there of rusty, dirty, falling apart who-knows-what.  While Melanie and her little sister Janelle were changing, I *finally* found the image I've been waiting for to base my "junkyard gallery" around.  I'm planning a cool wall of old antique-y pictures for my new home's empty walls.

I'm obessed with depth of field so I'm sure all the pictures that end up on the wall will have a similar feel to them.

Next, the beautiful subjects of the evening:

Obviously this last picture and most others on this blog show my other obsession- the backlit subject.  I love to backlight. YUMM!

Onto other things- I never mentioned that we did have another winner in my second auction- reader Brandon won the HUGE auction prize with his bid of $900.  Brandon- you rule.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping out in such a gigantic way!  Can't wait until our session.

And lastly, there's this article I wrote for a very cool blog called Momlogic.  I'm no writer, but it's still fun to write about my first impressions of Nie!
