Happy Anniversary, Blue Lily!

On April 9th of 2007, I lauched Blue Lily with zero expectations.  I really had decided that I would just "see what happens" with making a business out of my obsession.

One year later, I am amazed at what happened. Blue Lily is a thriving little business, I have more clients than I ever could have imagined, and word of mouth is what I owe it all to.  I never planned on getting into weddings or product photography or being hired by TV producers, but look what happened!  Makes me giggle with delight. I adore photography. I feel so passionately about it, and I know it sounds dorky when I say that, but it truly is my passion.

What have I learned from this year?  I have learned that people are beautiful, inside and out.  That a smile  and sparkly eyes through my viewfinder brings me so much happiness.  I've learned that there truly is good in this world.  Don't ask me how I've learned it... I just... have.  Thank you to every one of you who have showed your support for me in this crazy adventure!

To celebrate Blue Lily's anniversary I went and put my thinking cap on, and my tiny brain birthed this huge idea.  It will be so fun to look back one year from now and see if this campaign fails or succeeds.   Since I started this business, everything has really just fallen into my lap. No marketing. No overhead, hardly.  Except one genre:  SENIORS.  High school seniors are verrrrrry hard to reach, and since they are forced to go to a local studio for their yearbook pictures I haven't had a lot of luck.  So... go here and see what I've done.

The campaign is this: be ONE in 100.  I will be talking in 100 class of 2009 seniors, 100 only.  When I reach 100 I will be holding a drawing for a free iphone. I think that will get these kids motivated.  My goal is to provide photography that's out of the box, alternative, and... NOT BORING!  Dare to be different, be fresh, urban, modern, colorful.  You get the drift.

So, check it out, and tell me what you think!  I admit the site isn't 100% done- I still have to hire my reps and fix some stuff here and there.. let me know if you see anything that needs fixin'.

Yaaaaaaaay!
